Some of the perks of my job includes working with great clients, trips to Cape Town, meeting new people, interacting with the media, experience great products and my favourite part, attending awesome events!

Africology recently introduced their Mont Rochelle Spa to the media in true Africology Style and I was there. A beautiful venue, great spa treatments, great food and an awesome goodie bag to take home.

Mont Rochelle, Sir Richard Branson’s South African Hotel & Vineyard situated in Franschhoek and recently reopened to the public. Mont Rochelle has a fabulous history dating as far back as 1688 so it was important to incorporate these original features into the refurbishment, such as renaming the restaurant from Mange-Tout to Miko in honour of Miko Rwayitare – the original owner from 2007. Mont Rochelle has a unique look and feel and now boasts a brand new spa in conjunction with Africology with a Hammam, a heated pool and 22 beautifully refurbished bedrooms.

Africology is the leading natural, eco-friendly and holistic spa and skincare company in South Africa. Africology prides itself on its roots, taking inspiration from home and using local active ingredients including Rooibos, Aloe, Marula and African Potato.

The signature treatments at the spa, the Cape Malay Spice journey; Hamam Purification Ritual and the Grape Stem Cell facial is a must try!

Grape Stem Cell protects longevity of skin stem cells, delays senescence of essentials cells and combats chronological aging.  This new technology stimulates keratinocytes to secrete growth factors that can enhance the synthesis of collagen and elastin in the dermis. It thus rejuvenates the skin matrix thanks to its growth factor like activity, and boosts collagen and elastin production, reviving skin texture.

Furthermore, a number of treatments at the Mont Rochelle spa has been selected to support the Kusasa Project. At least 15% of the treatment price will go to the Kusasa project to assist their work promoting academic, sporting and life skills for underprivileged children in the Western Cape.

One of these supporting treatments, the Spagista Signature treatment, is a must try. A reflexology inspired pedicure that powerfully works on stimulating reflex points in the feet whilst red grapes are pressed by the feet. A beautiful way to allow natural antioxidants to penetrate the skin and to rejuvenate and build capillary strength. Transformed into a powerful mask, your feet and legs continue to benefit from the antioxidants, whilst your therapist massages your back and neck to align energy flow, prior to treating your feet to a luxurious pedicure

At Africology the focus is on uplifting the mind and body in a positive way. Bespoke pampering with a real health benefit.

So if you are ever in the Franschoek area and in need of some spa pampering, pop in at Mont Rochelle, you won’t be disappointment!
